“Nayantara should not play Seetha”

Nayantara, whose alleged affair with Prabhu Deva earned the wrath of various women organisations, is now facing a protest from the Hindu Makkal Katchi after reports claimed that she would play the role of Goddess Seetha in a Telugu film.

The HMK, which has been vociferous in various issues affecting the sentiments of Hindus and Tamils, has objected to Nayantara playing the female lead in the Tollywood flick ‘Sri Ramarajyam’.

The film which has Telugu top hero Balakrishna in the lead is said to be based on Ramayana. And Nayantara, who is a popular heroine in Tollywood, has been reportedly roped in to play Goddess Seetha.

Opposing this, organising secretary of Hindu Makkal Katchi Kannan said, “Ramayana is a book of morals and it insists on the principle of ‘one man, one woman’ in life. What right Nayantara has to act as Seetha while she tried to snatch away another woman’s husband in real life?”
