Young Malayalam actress Bhagyanjali, who has acted in a couple of Tamil movies, has lodged a complaint with Chennai Assistant Commissioner of Police Lakshmi, alleging that character actor Velu (who usually appears as a villain) is inflicting mental torture and harassment by constantly compelling her to marry him ever since they co-starred in Unnai Kadalikiren (Tamil).
In her complaint, she alleged that Velu was friendly with her during the shooting, but later resorted threatening to kill her if she did not marry him. She also accused him of forcing her to sign documents claiming she had borrowed Rs. 15 lakhs from him.
Rebutting her claims, Velu said he has given a hand loan of Rs. 40,000 to Bhagyanjali about a year ago and she has signed papers in this connection. But when he tried to recover his money, she has given these shameful complaints. Meanwhile, the police said that they are yet to register a case based on Bhagyanjali's complaint, but are undertaking an initial investigation.
