M. Jayachandran completes hundred

One of the most popular music directors of Malayalam cinema, M Jayachandran completed hundred films recently. The young musician who started in films with the Babu Antony starrer 'Chantha' in 1995 has always been a regular in creating quality music.

One of the most loved musicians of our times he had also earned the state awards for best music director and best playback singer. Equally talented in creating foot tapping melody songs and classical based tunes, his songs are the regulars in the hit charts. The musician had also been able to use the voice of super star Mohanlal for his songs like “Karukare” from 'Balettan'.

A qualified electrical engineer, Jayachandran says that he had never dreamed of becoming a professional musician. But within a span of 15 years he was able to complete his hundred films. Interestingly he had been the music director of most of the recent hits of superstar Mohanlal, their companionship working brightly from 'Balettan'.

Thereafter, Jayachandran had done many good songs for Mohanlal in films like 'Madambi', 'Janakan', 'Maambazhakalam', 'Naturajavu', 'Mahasamudram' to the latest ‘Shikaar’. His other big hits includes Nottam, Nivedhyam, Novel, Chakkara Muthu, Valkannadi, Akale, Amritham, Ivar Vivaahithraayal, Gowry Shankaram and Banares.

Jayachandran who had worked with almost all big names in Malayalam lyrics like Girish Puthencherry, Ramesan Nair, Anil Panachuran, Vayalar Sarath and Bichu Thirumala, had recently been with  ONV Kurup' for the film ‘Karayilekku Oru Kadal Dooram’ by Vinod Mankara. Right now M Jayachandran is scoring music for about ten films.
