100% Love Movie Review-100% FUN

100% Love stars Naga Chaitanya and Tammanah in the lead roles, with Naresh,K.R Vijaya, and others in the supporting roles. The movie is written and  directed by Arya fame, Sukumar. Cinematography is by Venkat Prasad, produced by Bunny Vasu, and music is by Devi Sri Prasad.

Story: Balu(Naga Chaitanya) comes in first in every exam he takes. So,generally he is conceited about himself. Mahalakshmi(Tammanah),his mardhalu(marriageable cousin) comes from her home village to study along with Balu. She studied in Telugu Medium, so she is kind of dumb(to put it nicely). When she sees Balu, she's in awe of him. When, its time to take the exam, she runs out crying from the exam hall, saying that she's dumb and she will fail. Balu develops sympathy for her and helps her study. The next time they take the exam, she comes in first. Balu gets extremely jealous and irritated. That starts the "Tom and Jerry" game between them, both try to outsmart each other. The third time neither of them come in first place, another classmate Ajith(Anand) comes in first. That irks the both of them,so they both compromise and try to divert him. How they do so, and in the process what happens between the both of them, forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Naga Chaitanya seems to be experimenting with different roles, with every movie. In this role he scores 95%, because he still needs to improve in the facial expressions department. I can't really comment on his dancing skills, because this film didn't have much. Tammanah is a treasure for Telugu Cinema, she's got the looks and she's got good performance skills. She has a really important role in this film, probably her best after Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam. She scores a 100%. All the others do what they are supposed too. The kids, were so adorable, they were such a cute addition to the story.

Direction,Story: Sukumar scores a 100% in both departments. The story is a fabulous feel good entertainer, while the direction lives up to it.

Music: Its by Devi Sri Prasad, and its AWESOME. They have such a lighthearted feel to them. My favs were: Diyalo Diyalo,Aho Baalu,That is Mahalakshmi,A square B square and Dhooram Dhooram. But all of them are breezy and nice.

Cinematography: 100% Love is one of those films where the camerawork plays a part too. Venkat Prasad did a nice job capturing the light hearted moments of the film. There are many throughout the film, little cute ones. The cinematography just gives us a lovable feel.

Pros:

  • Cast
  • Story&Direction
  • Music&BGM
  • The kids
  • Cinematography
  • Costumes
  • Production
Cons:

  • Naga Chaitanya's expressionless face in some parts
  • Lack of much comedy
  • one or two scenes are a bit out of place/weird
The End: 100% Love is 100% FUN  to watch, go watch it you will LOVE it like the title :) Its a cute film, that is a package of everything :)

Rating: 3.5/5

CSK vs RCB: Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore to win IPL 4

NEW DELHI: Chennai Super Kings won their second successive IPL title by inflicting a crushing 58-run defeat over Royal Challengers Bangalore at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on Saturday.

Scorecard

Chasing a mammoth victory target of 206 runs, Bangalore could manage 147/8 as Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets.

Ashwin had Chris Gayle caught behind by MS Dhoni for a duck as Bangalore got off to a disastrous start.

Ashwin struck on the fourth ball of the RCB innings to give CSK the first breakthrough.

Ashwin struck again in his next over when he clean bowled Mayank Agarwal by a carom ball.

Shadab Jakati then dismissed AB de Villiers and Luke Pomersbach in his successive overs.

Jakati first trapped de Villiers plumb in front of the wicket and in his next over took an easy return catch to dismiss Pomersbach.

Virat Kohli hit a six and a four in his 32-ball 35 before he was trapped plumb in front of the wicket by Suresh Raina.

Ashwin then took his third wicket by taking a return catch to dismiss RCB captain Daniel Vettori for a first ball duck.

Earlier, Murali Vijay's 52-ball 95 and Michael Hussey's 45-ball 63 powered Chennai to 205/5.

Sreenath Aravind dismissed Vijay and MS Dhoni off successive deliveries but that was little consolation for RCB as the damage had already been done.

Vijay's knock was studded with 6 sixes and 4 fours and he was caught by RCB captain Daniel Vettori at mid-off.

On the next delivery, Aravind had Dhoni caught by Virat Kohli at long-on. Dhoni, who came in at number three, hit 2 sixes in his 13-ball 22 before falling to Aravind.

Chris Gayle dismissed Albie Morkel and Suresh Raina off successive deliveries to place CSK at 199/4 but Dwayne Bravo hit the last delivery for a six to take CSK to 205/5.

Hussey put up a 159-run stand with Vijay before Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad had him caught by Abhimanyu Mithun at long-on off a full toss.

The Vijay-Hussey stand is the highest partnership for any wicket for CSK in IPL.

Hussey hit 3 sixes and 3 fours in his 45-ball 63 before falling to Syed.

Hussey reached his fifty off 40 balls and alongwith Vijay brought up CSK's 150 in 14.2 overs.

Vijay hit a 29-ball fifty and alongwith Hussey brought up CSK's 100 in 10.3 overs.

Vijay's 50 is the second fastest half-century by a CSK batsman.

Vijay and Hussey brought up Chennai 50 in the fifth over and apart from the big shots, the highlight of their partnership was their superb running between the wickets.

The start came after Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat.

Chennai are unchanged for the sixth game on the trot and Bangalore have also retained the eleven that beat Mumbai Indians on Friday.

Teams:

Chennai Super Kings: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Capt.), Murali Vijay, Michael Hussey, Suresh Raina, Albie Morkel, Subramaniam Badrinath, Dwayne Bravo, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Doug Bollinger, Shadab Jakati.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Daniel Vettori (Capt.), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Saurabh Tiwary, Luke Pomersbach, Sreenath Aravind, Abhimanyu Mithun, Zaheer Khan, Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad.

Sachin, Yuvraj and Gambhir ruled out of West Indies tour

CHENNAI: There's always a twist to the tale when it comes to national selection committee meetings these days. The Indian cricket fraternity was eagerly awaiting the result of the fitness test ofGautam Gambhir, but by the time the selectors came out of the meeting, there were a couple of more blows awaiting the fans.

Not only was Gambhir ruled out, Sachin Tendulkarand Yuvraj Singh, too, opted out of the series opening the door for the likes of Virat Kohli, Abhinav Mukund and S Badrinath.

While Tendulkar wants some time off from a hectic schedule to be with his family, Yuvraj is suffering from an upper respiratory infection, with a small patch of pneumonitis in the left lung. With Yuvi and Gambhir opting out, two openings were created in the ODI squad as well and the selectors inducted Shikhar Dhawan and Manoj Tiwary in for the five-match series.

Predictably, Suresh Raina will lead the side with Harbhajan Singh being his deputy in the ODI squad. VVS Laxman, on the other hand will be the vice-captain for the Tests.

The selectors, though, made it clear they have nothing against Gambhir for opting to play for KKR and thus aggravating his injury. "There have always been injury issues and we have to live with it. Our job is to work with the options in hand and we have done that," chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth told TOI.

Once it was made official Gambhir won't be going, TN lefty Abhinav Mukund was drafted into the Test squad. Mukund has amassed 1,211 runs in the first-class season and the selectors felt "the time was ripe to give him the break".

It will be an all Tamil Nadu opening combination with M Vijay being the other specialist in the line-up. Parthiv Patel, who pipped Wriddhiman Saha to the post for the second wicketkeeper's slot, will be the back-up opener.

But Tendulkar and Yuvraj's decisions to opt out came as a bolt from the blue for the selectors and that put them in a bit of a tricky situation. They didn't know beforehand that these two players won't be going and that's why it took them a while to finalise the Test squad. But the selectors don't think the team will do badly in the series. They feel that there's a nice combination of youth and experience and most of the new boys like Kohli and Badrinath will get to play in the first XI.

"The tour will provide us with the perfect platform to see how these boys shape up," Srikkanth said. The pace quartet for the Tests comprises Zaheer Khan, Sreesanth, Ishant Sharma and Munaf Patel, the three spinners are Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha.

Test squad: MS Dhoni (capt), VVS Laxman (vc), M Vijay, Abhinav Mukund, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli,
S Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Sreesanth, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina, Parthiv Patel (wk).

Limited-overs squad: Suresh Raina (capt), R Ashwin, S Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh (vc), Virat Kohli, Praveen Kumar, Amit Mishra, Munaf Patel, Parthiv Patel (wk), Yusuf Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Manoj Tiwary, Shikhar Dhawan.

A.R. Murugadoss on 7am Arivu release date

Finally we hear it from the horse’s mouth. The release date of Suriya starrer ‘7am Arivu’ has been a long wait for the fans. With A.R. Murugadoss making his way back to Kollywood after a sabbatical, the expectations got bigger for the collaboration of ‘Ghajini’ team. It was expected that the film would hit screens in April-May as the producers felt summer as the high time for theatres.

However, as the production works got postponed due to various reasons, the makers decided to postpone the release by July. A.R. Murugadoss has mentioned that the post production works are progressing rapidly and will be completed by next month. The audio launch is scheduled to be held by mid June. Harris Jayaraj has promised to delight his fans, who are curiously looking out for the album following his huge success with ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ and ‘Ko’.

Nandha’s lucky side – Hero or Villain?

Cute looks, aggressive performance and selection of unique roles have been keeping Nandha in the race. Glimpse through the list of movies the actor has done right from his debut film ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’, his roles have been different comparatively and quite impressive as well.

His delineation as a soft aspiring filmmaker in ‘Kodambakkam’ and a memory loss patient in ‘Selvam’ were praiseworthy. But what won him more laurels was his negative character in ‘Eeram’. The actor has now performed a villain's role in Jiiva’s upcoming film ‘Vandhan Vendran’ and has grabbed our attention with his tough looks in the teasers. On the pars, the actor has almost completed shooting for his other film ‘Vellore Maavattam’ that features him in the lead role of a police officer. We’ll have to wait and watch what suits best for the actor now as these films are shaping up on their best.

Meena to play mother-in-law to Cherry

Chiranjeevi and Meena played together in some films like Mutha Mestri, Sneham Kosam and others. Now that Chiranjeevi almost retired from films and has become busy in politics.

Meena, who quit films some time ago after getting married to a businessman, is planning to make a comeback and VV Vinayak gave her an offer to play the role of Ram Charan’s mother-in-law in his forthcoming film to go to sets in August.

She had agreed to play the mother of Samanta, the heroine of the movie. If this information is true, the audiences would have a feast to their eyes to watch Meena in a new avatar, for the film to be produced by DVV Danayya on the banner of Universal Media.

Superstar in Singapore

Superstar Rajinikanth on Friday night flew to Singapore for “rest and rehabilitation” after being discharged from Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai where he was admitted for respiratory problems.

If sources are to be believed, the numero uno star of Tamil cinema was wheeled in through the cargo entrance through gate number two even as media personnel and others waited around gate numbers five and six.

Accompanied by his family members, Rajinikanth waved to the fans who gathered at the airport before being escorted into the flight. He would be treated at the National Kidney Centre in Singapore, sources said.

While Rajini’s elder daughter Aishwarya said one of the reasons for going to Singapore was to provide her father some privacy, the actor's wife Latha told journalists that he was going to Singapore for rejuvenation. However, all family members and doctors maintained that the Superstar is fine.

Kajal as Goan girl in 'Singam'

Kajal Agarwal who is making her debut in Hindi version of 'Singam' with Ajay Devgn is playing the role of a Goan girl. She herself revealed this to the media recently.

Though Anushka Shetty played the role in Tamil and Telugu versions of this film, Kajal bagged it in Hindi. When asked if she would imitate Anushka in Hindi version, she said,

"Absolutely not. I am playing the role of a Goan girl in this movie. It is made according to the sensibilities of Hindi audience. I have started shooting for this film. Infact my role has been re-written completely for this film. Anushka did a great job in 'Singam' that released as 'Yamudu' in Telugu. If I have any doubts on the role, I will certainly contact her" Kajal said.

Riding high on success with 'Darling', 'Mr Perfect' and 'Brindavanam', Kajal is now number one heroine in Tollywood. She is being talked about as the next Soundarya, thanks to her roles. We are yet to see how her career in Bollywood shapes up.

Ko Tamil Movie Review - MUST WATCH

So much hype was around Ko, because of K.V Anand's Blockbuster,Ayan, and because of a couple of casting discrepancies. Movie Lovers were counting on him to score another Blockbuster. Guess What? Well he sure did :)
Ko means King in Old Tamil:
Cast:
Jiiva
Karthika
Pia Bajpal
Ajmal Ameer
Direction:
K.V Anand
Written by:
K.V Anand
Subha
Music Direction:
Harris Jayaraj
Cinematography:
Richard M.Nathan
Editor:
Anthony
Produced by:
Kumar Jayaraman
Genre:
Political Thriller

Plot: Ashwin(Jiiva) is a photojournalist for a Tamil Daily, "Dina Anjal", he is super popular for his great pictures. There are also other journalists for the daily, Saro(Pia) who is in charge of the entertainment section; and Renuka(Karthika) who covers sensational news. (You guessed it! Triangular Love Story) Elections are coming up in TN, and the two major canidates are : Yogeswaran(Prakash Raj), and Alavadhan( Kota Srinivas Rao); they do anything they can to "win" the hearts of the people. Ashwin and Renuka uncover their true colors to the society, which helps Vasanthan(Ajmal) and his party, get popular among the masses. As people, concentrate more on him, he ends up winning the people with his good deeds; since he actually wants clean politics. Sadly during a Election rally a bomb goes off and Saro ends up dying. Now its up to Ashwin and Renuka to find the people behind it. The Climax is shocking.

Performances:Jiiva, seriously poured life into his character, it was like tailor made for him. He scored well in everything from romance to comedy to fighting to emotions. Pia's character was totally made FOR her, she portrayed it so well. Saro is definitely her best performance till date. Saro leaves a mark our hearts, with her bubbliness and cuteness. We can't help but, feel sad,and tear up for her. Karthika was gorgeous, and performance wise too she did well. She couldn't have had a better debut than this. Jiiva had sizzling screen chemistry with both,Pia and Karthika, which doesn't happen to all actors. Ajmal was VERY convincing in his role. Everyone else, didn't have a major part but were there and did well in there small roles, like Prakash Raj,Kota Srinivas Rao, Bose Venkat. Pattimandram Raja had a blink of an eye role.

Aga Naga appearances:
Surya
Karthi
Tammanah
Jai
Shiva
Bharath
Shakthi
Sasikumar
Ganesh Venkataraman
Harris Jayaraj
Rima Kallingal
Anuja Iyer
John Vijay
Jayam Ravi
Krish
Sanjana Singh
Peter Hein
Adharvaa

Music: I have no words for the Music except: OMG Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :D The movies first song is Aga Naga, where a lot of celebrities appear. But, it didn't live up to the hype around it,it was a bit too vague, I guess. But Tamannah was the only one who actually "participated" in the song. Amali Thumali and Venpaniye were shot in beautiful locations. Ennamo Yedho was situational and a "dancy" song. Netri Pottal was a situational song, while Gala Gala was a campus song. All the songs had awesome costumes. My music review: http://scooponthesouth.blogspot.com/2011/01/ko-music-review-classy.html

Direction-Cinematography-Editing
K.V Anand proves, once again, that we can't go wrong with his movies;there always so classy. Everything is so fine, casting, music, direction, cinematography, editing, everything. The Cinematography adds to the intensity of the film. The stunts, Oh my god. They were so freaking cool and stylish. Jiivas opening in the film was super cool! Special Mention to Peter Hein!

Theme:
The theme of the film is the daily life of a Photojournalist. But it doesn't stop there, Politics is laced into the film, along with journalism. The film is intense which makes it even better.

Pros:
  • Cast
  • Music
  • Pia's Comic timing
  • Story
  • Direction
  • Cinematography
  • Jiiva by himself
  • Costumes
  • Locations
  • Intensity of film
  • Has a Feel Good Factor, with the Intensity
  • No cliches
  • Theme
  • Chinmayi's dubbing for Karthika
  • Lyrics( Special Shout out to: Madhan Karky!)
  • Classiness

Cons:
  • Aga Naga
  • Wrong timing for Venpaniye.
At the end,Jiiva emerges as the Ko of the film and the Box Office :) Watch it, its seriously not your normal commercial Tamil film. Its Intense and just plain awesome! Watch it now, go!! This IS this summers Blockbuster for sure :)

Allu Arjun refuses to share screen with Ileana

Even as the final touches are being given for his forthcoming film ‘Badrinath’ under the direction of VV Vinayak and produced by Allu Aravind on the banner of Geeta Arts, Stylish Star Allu Arjun is making use of his leisure time to listen to stories for his future projects.

In the process, he gave nod to Trivikram Srinivas as he was impressed with the storyline. When the director suggested the name of Ileana as heroine for the film, Allu Arjun was quite hesitant and expressed his displeasure over the decision.

May be, Ileana’s films in the recent past failed to click at the Box Office and Allu Arjun was quite sentimental in this regard.

Moreover, gossips made rounds in the recent past that Ileana is troubling the producers and others on the sets and is demanding somewhere around Rs 1.5 crore for a film.

Following Allu Arjun’s displeasure, the director is looking for either a fresh face or another heroine would suit best opposite Allu Arjun.

Richa to share screen space with STR!

‘Vaanam’ has been declared a hit, and the young star is all set to star work for his next film, ‘Dabaang’s remake. It is known by now that this remake will be directed by Dharani and now, sources say, that Tollywood heroine Richa Gangopadhyay will share screen space with Silambarasan!

We had already told you that the team was busy looking out for heroines from the north, like Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor. Looks like they have zeroed in on this Tollywood beauty, who has already made it big in the Telugu film industry, having delivered blockbusters like ‘Leader’ ‘Nagavalli’ and ‘Mirapakaay.’

Richa is a great dancer and a beauty pageant winner as well, so maybe we can expect great performances since the duo are renowned dancers…

The puja for this film will be held on May 9 at the AVM Studios. We’ll get back to you shortly with more updates!

Nayantara goes to Bollywood?

Vijay starrer ‘Pokiri’ was a super hit down south and Salman Khan’s Hindi flick ‘Wanted’ was the remake of this Kollywood hit. Following this blockbuster, the ace hero requested ‘Wanted’s director, Prabhu Deva to consider a sequel with Salman.

Despite his projects down south, Prabhu Deva worked on a script for the sequel and it is expected to go on floor by the end of 2011.

However, what our birdies have to say might interest one and all. It is now said that, Prabhu Deva’s lady love, Nayantara will be paired up with Salman Khan in this sequel! This is on contrary to the speculation prevailing among Nayantara’s fans that she will quit acting after marrying Prabhu Deva, which is after he obtains his divorce this June.

Whether the South Indian beauty Nayantara shares screen space with Salman in ‘Wanted 2’ or not, we’ll have to wait to know…

Tamannah, Tamil, Telugu

Tamannah has made a decision. And she is implementing it without any delay. That to interact with unit members in Tamil if she is shooting for a Tamil film and in Telugu if she is working in Tollywood.

“This has remarkably improved my Tamil and Telugu knowledge and now I can speak fluently in both the languages,” says the actress, adding in a lighter vein: “In fact, I am finding it difficult to conversant in Hindi these days.”

Currently shooting for ‘Venghai’ in Tamil, Tamannah is working in ‘Badrinath’, an Allu Arjun starrer, in Telugu. Her ‘100% Love’ with Naga Chaitanya hit the screens only yesterday, and witnessed big opening all over Andhra Pradesh.
“Professionalism is one common thing I found in both the industries. I should thank the Almighty for gifting me good co-stars and great directors,” Tamannah, who is playing a village girl in ‘Venghai’, says.

Prithviraj’s marriage makes Priyamani happy

Priyamani is happy that Prithiviraj has tied the knot. For, the actor’s marriage with television journalist Supriya Menon last week has put an end to rumours linking Priyamani with him.

“Eligible bachelors across industries getting married is good for us actresses,” says Priyamani, who a couple of days ago attended the wedding reception of Tollywood top star NTR Junior, in Hyderabad.

On gossips which linked her with Prithviraj, Priyamani says, “I have always maintained that my concentration is only on my career and on nothing else. It has been proved true now.”

Wishing Prithvi a happy married life, Priyamani, who had acted with him in films such as ‘Ninaithaley Inikkum’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavanan’, says, “Both were important movies in my career.”
