Nayanthara's goodbye to Kollywood?

Is Nayanthara saying goodbye to Kollywood? The writing is 'on the screen', as she has completed all her current assignments and moved on.

Her Rajesh-directed Boss Engira Baskaran (BEB) with Arya, is likely to be her last release in Tamil. She has Shyama Prasad's arthouse Electra in Malayalam and the mass commercial Symbol with Upendra in Kannada to release.

Nayanthara has been refusing to sign some of the biggest projects in Tamil and Telugu with superstars, besides a Bollywood film with a top star! Says a rival actress, "Can you believe that she said 'no' to director Siddique, who offered her a chance to be Salman Khan's heroine in the Hindi remake of her Malayalam film Bodyguard? " The industry feedback is that Nayan has matured as an actress of substance and has a phenomenal fan following. In fact, trade experts think that she is the only actress in Kollywood who commands an opening!

All this has made her BEB hot in the trade circuit, especially after the trailer and songs of the film have started playing on television channels. Says Arya, "Nayanthara is simply terrific in BEB. She really loved doing the film, and kept on saying that Chandrika (her character in the film) is similar to what she is in real life; practical, level-headed and independent. Watch her in the comedy scenes, along with Santhanam, and me... she's sure to bring the house down! I don't know if it'll be her last film in Tamil; that, you'll have to ask her and Prabhu Deva. But one thing is sure — BEB will be the most memorable film in her career."

Meanwhile, sources close to Nayanthara state, "Nayan has given up her career as her priority is to marry Prabhu Deva. They are made for each other and are just waiting to legalise their relationship, the moment Prabhu's divorce from his wife comes through." Prabhu's family has accepted Nayan and she is said to be the darling of household. Recently, the couple is said to have exchanged garlands during a big pooja and homam performed by Sundaram master (Prabhu's dad) in which the couple exchanged garlands.

Prabhu Deva is now more open about his relationship with Nayanthara. He took her with him to Paris during the shoot of Jayam Ravi's Ich, a film which he's directing. A source adds, "Last Tuesday, they were spotted at a Vadapalani theatre holding hands and watching Karthi's Naan Mahaan Alla." Currently, the lovebirds are in Malshej Ghat on the location of Santosh Sivan's Urumi, in which Prabhu Deva plays a pivotal role along with Prithviraj and Genelia. It looks like movies don't excite Nayan any more, as she is now learning cooking and believes in the old adage that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. toi
