Thalapathi....

I have never watched Thalapathi before, but today I did. The only reason I haven't seen it was that I was scared Rajinikanth was going to die, which I don't want to see. But I got over that fear after I read there was a version where he doesn't die. So I was happy :) So I watched it today. :) :) and MAN Mani Ratnam is the true master of film making :D

I liked how Mani Ratnam showed the mother and son love between Srividya and Rajinikanth, it made me cry. Rajini was an amazing friend to mamukka(Mammootty) in the movie,wonderful friendship. If you watch the movie you will feel like you want a friend like that forever! :) Its just to hard to describe in words..... Banu Priya was rarely seen in the movie, Shobana was great and gorgeous as always :D But,I felt sad when she got married off to Arvind Swamy. :( Geetha acted as Mammooty's wife, she was great and she was right for the role like all the others. :) I found it awkward to see Srividya playing the mother of Rajini, I mean she was born in 1953 and Rajini was born in 1949. AMAZING acting done by Rajini , Mammootty,Shobana,and Srividya, always teared up when their sad parts came :( The great thing was that the movies story, didn't clash with Rajinikanths image,had everything that Rajini fans needed, but it still was a complete Mani Ratnam film :) Can't stop praisng!!! :D

The music was done by Ilayaraja. I say the most memorable tune would be Rakkama Kaiya Thattu sung by S.P Balasubramanium and the late Swarnamalya. Great job done by the two. Other ones I thought that were neat were: Sundari Kannal, Janaki rocks in that song! also sung with SPB,Chinna Thaayal, sung by S.Janaki, she puts so much feeling into it that it made me cry,its great with her voice and with Rajini's acting.
