I will return to Telugu: Bipasha

Talking to the media at the promotional function of her Rohan Sippy-directed Dum Maro Dum(DMD) in Hyderabad, Bollywood sensation Bipasha Basu said that she is looking forward to act in Telugu films once again.

The actress earlier acted with Mahesh Babu in Takkari Donga (2002). "If the story is really interesting and my role is good, I don't mind acting in any language. I would love to do another film in Telugu but before that I have to gain a good command over the language," she said.

"I have earlier acted in a Telugu film called Takkari Donga opposite Mahesh Babu. Now, I have acted with another Telugu man Rana and it is really a thrill. Dum Maro Dum is a romantic movie in the backdrop of Goa, which is shown as India`s drug capital," Bipasha said. She hoped that the presence of Rana in DMD will bring the Telugu crowds to the theatres in Andhra Pradesh.

Richa to romance Mahesh Babu

If reports are to be believed, Richa Gangopadhyaya will be Mahesh Babu's heroine in ace Mani Ratnam's next Tamil-Telugu bilingual, based on the popular Tamil novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' written by Kalki Krishna Murthy. If this happens, it would be Richa's first Tamil film.

The Tamil version has been titled Ponniyin Selvan, while Telugu version is yet to be titled. They star Tamil heroes Vijay and Arya besides Mahesh Babu.

According to reports, Anushka plays Mahesh Babu’s younger sister as well as Vijay’s love interest in this film. Vijay will play the courageous warrior Vallavarayan Vandiyatheyan and Mahesh Babu will play King Aditha Karikalan. The role of Arulmozhi Varman (who later becomes Raja Raja Chozha), will be played by Arya.

Genelia opposite Rana?

India's much-sought-after actress Genelia, who was last seen in Tollywood in Ram Charan Teja's romantic comedyOrange (2010), is likely to be the heroine opposite Rana Daggubati in his next film to be directed by newcomer Prakash Toleti, who earlier worked as an associate to Bommarillu Bhaskar and Sukumar.

This untitled film is produced by Paruchuri Kiriti, maker of super hit Simha. More details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Rana is presently busy with the promotional events of his upcoming films Nenu Naa Rakshasi in Telugu and Dum Maro Dum in Hindi. Genelia is gearing up for the release of her debut Malayalam film Urumi, directed by acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan.

Tapasee's favorites Surya and Priyamani! (Written by Me)

Tapasee recently gave in an interview to Behindwoods.com about Vandhan Vendran. She was all in praises for Surya and Priyamani, when asked who her favorites were; and said she is a huge fan of them.. See for your self:

Question: What are the movies that you saw recently?

Tapasee: .....I went to theatre to watch Raktha Charithra as I am a huge fan of Suriya even before I came into Tamil industry. As a north Indian, we only know Suriya as someone who did the Tamil Ghajini and I never imagined that I would one day be working in the same industry as Suriya. I make it a point to see Suriya’s films in theaters.

Question: Who do you find HOT in the industry?

Tapasee: Suriya is the only hottest person in the industry.

Question: Your favorite hero?

Tapasee: By now, you must have guessed that my favorite hero in Tamil is Suriya. Of course there is the super star and Kamal Haasan and I have met them also. But no offense to them, Suriya remains my favorite.

Question: Favorite heroine?

Tapasee: Not only in Tamil but in all the south Indian languages, Priya Mani is my favorite actress. She knows all the languages and she is such a wonderful, natural actor on screen. She delivers an effortless performance which is natural and spontaneous. Others might say the usual common names but I like Priya Mani.

Hope she gets to work with each of them in a couple of films! :)

Its all rumors about Rana

No other actors other than Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone have been confirmed for Ranaa, says KS Ravi Kumar. The media has been reporting frantically that Asin, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan etc., are playing important roles in the film and later that these actresses have pulled out of the film for various reasons. Declining all this as mere rumors, KS Ravi Kumar has said that the media should only rely on official confirmation and not write news based on their own assumptions.
He added that he has not discussed the script with anyone till now and the star cast will be finalized very soon.

Manju Warrier, Samyuktha, back in a Mammotty film

This has been the question that had been aired in most of the interviews with the  filmy celebrities.Dileep and Biju menon would have answered it for at least a hundred times in the last five years. Yes, This is also a news that Malayalees, all around the world, had been awaiting for a long time.

You have picked it right. The favourite ever green heroines of Mollywod, Manju Warrier and Samyuktha varma who were resting in their roles of housewives, away from filmdom, will be back on screen in a short while.  They will be playing the heroines in their comeback movie to none other than Megastar Mammootty. What to hear more? This will be a project to be  directed by Laljose. And Dileep will be the producer of the project under the banner of his own Grand productions.Add to that , Dileep and Biju Menon will also appear in other important roles in the movie.....Altogether this project of surprises is going to be a family affair, that will take off in a short while.

Mamootty had never appeared with these two talented heroines in any of their films and the megastar has shared this  feeling with Dileep and Bijumenon ,many times. Both these actors were recently seen together endorsing the Kavya Madhavan movie 'Ghaddhama'.  It seems that it was all these talks which finally ended up in a movie project. It is heard that laljose will use the time that he has got after the wrapping of the  movie 'Cousins' with Mohanlal and Prithviraj, for the preproduction works of this new project. We were in a hurry to keep you updated  with those wonderful developments and so watch this space for  details about the cast and crew, that will be out soon.

Also pray to Almighty for making  this project a reality, than becoming another one on paper that may get shelved after some reports. And if it happens, this is sure to be one movie that will be eagerly watched out for its great performances for all lead stars, which may make the stars and the Mollywood  proud like never before.

Item song in ‘100% love’ to rock again

Sukumar had specialised in bringing out the love subjects on the silver screen. It is a general compliment on this young director. However, there is one more interesting aspect in his films.

He had also specialised in getting tuned an item song and present it on the screen in an impressive manner. Whether it is ‘Aa Ante Amalapuram’ in Arya, or ‘Muppiyyaru Iravai Nalugu Muppiyyaru’ in Jagadam or ‘Ringa Ringa Ringa Ringa’ in Arya-2, each had its own distinct style and they had become very famous among the Telugu audiences.

Especially the children too enjoy the rhythm in these songs. So far, several mass masala and item numbers had come on the Telugu screen but such songs were never shot on Hizras.

This time, Sukumar is experimenting a special song and item number on Hizras, of course, there will be Meghana Naidu, shaking her legs along with them for his forthcoming film ‘100% Love’.

Devisri Prasad scored fantastic number, it is learnt. Be patient till the audio hits the stands to listen to the melodious number.

100% Love out on April 29th

Naga Chaitanya and Tamannah starrer '100% Love' is all set to hit the screens on April 29th. Incidentally, Rana's 'Nenu Naa Raakshasi' is also releasing on the same day. Bunny Vasu is producing this movie on Geeta Arts banner.

Devi Sri Prasad composed music for this film and Sukumar directed it. The audio will be launched soon.It has been over an year since Nagachaitanya had a release. His last film was 'Ye Maya Chesave' which released last February.

Though this film was supposed to release for this Sankranti, it got postponed due to Tollywood strike.

"We got good trade response for this film. The audio is going to be launched soon in the presence of film personalities. This is a summer special love entertainer with complete commercial sensibilities. We are sure it will do well at the box office" said Bunny Vasu, the producer.

It took 18 months to make Shakthi: Aswini Dutt

Junior NTR and Ileana starrer mega budget movie Shakthi which will release on April 1st, was reportedly made in 18 months time. The movie's producer Aswini Dutt himself revealed that including the pre-production time, the movie took 18 months to be made.

His daughter Priyanka Chalasani personally took care of the production and the shooting part of this film took 13 months.
"I have been in film industry for over 36 years now. This is the first ever movie in my career that was shot for 13 long months.

As many as 300 technicians worked in this project. We shot in Egypt, Ladakh, Haridwar, Rishikesh et al. We are planning to remake Shakthi in Hindi too. We will reveal the details soon. After 'Robot', perhaps this is the only movie that can match its cost and lavishness when it comes to sets" Aswini Dutt announced.

Like in Indra which had Varanasi backdrop and Kolkata backdrop for 'Choodalani Vundhi', this film has five Shakthi Peetham as the backdrop to the story. The movie is releasing in all South Indian states on April 1st and in Tamil as 'Om Shakti'. Aswini Dutt feels that Meher Ramesh will be Junior Raghavendar Rao after the success of this movie and NTR will cement his position in the industry.

"Tarak reminds of NT Ramarao in many scenes and he will be remembered for ever for this film" he claims.

Yuvan’s ‘Avan Ivan’ album almost done

The next Bala product is in the making. The film Titled ‘Avan Ivan’ sees Arya and Vishal playing the lead roles. The female leads will be essayed by Janani Iyer and Madhu Shalini. Director Bala had earlier promised that this film would be different from his usual films and will have more comic elements. Arya and Vishal play siblings in the film and they have undergone complete makeover for this movie.

‘Avan Ivan’ is touted to catapult the lead stars’ career to newer heights.

The music for ‘Avan Ivan’ has been handled by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The director who usually signs music maestro Ilayaraja for his films has signed son Yuvan this time. Bala feels Yuvan will be able to bring the right feel to this youth-centric film. Reports suggest that the music album of ‘Avan Ivan’ will have four songs.

The composer has completed two songs already. Sources suggest that Yuvan has mostly used raw Indian tunes in most of the recordings for this album. People close to the music composer have also promised that the music album for ‘Avan Ivan’ will be out soon.

Director Bala who usually takes his own sweet time to perfect his film has completed this film sooner, compared to his previous films. Actor Suriya too appears in a cameo in ‘Avan Ivan’. It was director Bala who actually brought out the actor in Suriya with ‘Nandha’ which became Suriya’s launch pad to stardom in Tamil.

Kamal's trilingual titled 'Viswaroopam'

Kamal Haasan who stunned the audience with his versatile roles is all set to impress us again. His upcoming film which will be directed by Selvaraghavan and stars Sonakshi Sinha has been reportedly titled 'Viswaroopam'. The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

This flick will go on floors next month and the shoot will take place in Hyderabad, Chennai and London. Apparently, Kamal wants to do a better movie than Rajinikanth's 'Robot' interms of versatality and is leaving no stone unturned.

Sonakshi too has pinned high hopes on this film. She can't stop raving about it and said, "I am blessed to have got a superhit in Hindi through Dabbangg. I am entering South Indian film industry with a lot of enthusiasm. I am excited about this project" she said.

Selvaraghavan will direct a movie with Rana that stars Richa Gangopadhyay after this project which will be a bilingual.

Vishnu ready for next

The alliance is strong and hence it continues. Vishnu, director Sri Balaji and producer Ashish Jain of ‘Kullanari Koottam’ will come together again, this time too for a lively entertainer.

Confirming this, Vishnu says, “Yes, we have decided to start a new project. We understand each other a lot and this has brought us together again. Expect an official announcement soon.”

Meanwhile, ‘Kullanari Koottam’ which hit the screens Friday morning has evoked a positive talk in the box-office and it is expected that movie would gain more mileage this week-end.

Bringing together many a member of ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ team (Vishnu, Appukutty, Suri, music composer Selvaganesh and director Sri Balaji- a former associate to Suseenthiran), the film had Ramya Nambeesan as heroine.

Khaleja Movie Review-He's Back

Khaleja stars Mahesh Babu, Anushka in the lead roles, with Sunil,Prakash
Raj,Bhramanandham,Tanikella Bharani, and Ali in supporting roles. Direction is by Trivikam Srinivas, music by Mani Sharma and Cinematography by "Bachana Ae Haseeno" fame Sunil Patel. Khaleja was Mahesh's first film after a gap of 3 years, his last film being "Athidhi".

Story: Alluri Seetharama Raju aka Raju(Mahesh Babu) is a taxi dirver, whenever he encounters Subashni aka Subu(Anushka),she brings him bad luck. One day, 2 people get into his taxi, and they go to this construction place. One of the two leaves his wallet in Raju's taxi by accident; so Raju goes in to the construction site to give it back. When he gets there, he sees one of them get shot, while one of them jumps out the window and falls on top of Raju's cab. So the cab owner tells that the dude who fell on top of his car has 5 lakhs of insurance under his name, and his family is in Rajasthan. He travels there, but a surprise awaits him.....

Performances: Mahesh scores huge, in everything from looks to performance; apparently he spoke in Godavari dialect, wow he was too good. Everything about him in the movie is so cool; he completely changed his body language for the film. His comedy is a huge plus point, feels great to have him back on screen again. Anushka actually has a meaningful and glamourous role, surprisingly she almost lasts the whole movie. Sunil,Bhramandham, and Ali are freaking hilarious! XD  Prakash Raj and Tanikella Bharani are normally good. :)

Direction, is seriously normal, story is normal too except the stuff with Anushka and how Mahesh is seen as God. Music is the regular Mani stuff. My favs were Sada Siva and Boom Shakena. :)

You really don't notice a difference in the camera work, though its done by a bollywood cameraman.

Why I think it didn't do well at the BO: I think Khaleja didn't do well at the Box Office because of how Mahesh was looked upon as God in the film. Other fans might of not liked it, but I took it lightly; I mean its just a movie.

Watch it but put aside the factor of Mahesh being addressed as God in the film :)

Mankatha release postponed to June

Thala Ajith's 50th film Mankatha, which was suppose to grace theatres on Ajith's birthday (May 1), has now been postponed. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film also stars Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Premji Amaren, Arjun and Vaibhav in prominent roles.

The Mankatha team is currently busy with its final schedule in Mumbai which will go on till April 16. However, the talkie portion and two songs are yet to be shot. Apart from all these, we have the exciting IPL and Tamil Nadu elections in May. So considering all these factors, the producers have decided to postpone the release to June.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the film will be a complete action-thriller that will narrate the match-fixing sagas in international cricket matches.

Vettai goes on floors

The shooting of director Lingusamy's Vettai, starring Arya, Madhavan, Amala Paul and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles, went on floors today. According to the director, Vettai will be a multi-starrer action-packed family entertainer that will have all the commercial ingredients one would associate with a Lingusamy film. "Wish me luck folks. Just started on my tamil film Vettai with my buddy Arya who is making me work out with him every day," Madhavan tweeted.

Vettai will be made on a big budget by producers Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Vivek Ratnavel. The technical team includes Yuvan Shankar Raja (music), Nirav Shah (camera) and Anthony (editing).

Vikram's Pitha renamed Deiva Thirumagan

Vikram's upcoming project directed by Madarasapattinam Vijay, which was earlier titled as Pitha, has been renamed as Deiva Thirumagan now. Anushka and Amala Paul are the female leads. The film also has Vijay's regular team of Nirav (camera), G.V. Prakash (music), Selva (art) and Anthony (editing).

In the film, Vikram will appear as Muthu, a man suffering with a mental disorder and his struggles to bring up his daughter. Amala Paul will appear as Vikram's wife. Though initially reported to be inspired by the American movie I Am Sam, director Vijay has rubbished these reports.

A.R Rahman, sure-shot in Ponniyin Selvan

There is a huge buzz surrounding Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. Kalki’s epic classic has captivated generations of Tamilians and continues to do so. Fans of his work are anxious to find out who will play the characters that are deeply ingrained in their hearts. So far Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Arya, and Anushka have been confirmed for the project.

In recent times, Mani and A.R Rahman have teamed up together to create memorable music and so it was believed that they would come together again for this mammoth undertaking. But there were reports that Rahman is far too busy with international projects to be a part of Ponniyin Selvan.

However, sources within Mani’s camp insist that it will be Rahman who will be doing the music. It must be remembered that Mani had wished to make Ayutha Ezhuthu without music but Rahman would not hear of it. He came up with some magnificent tunes and convinced Mani to include the songs in his movie. This time also the two legends will work together and hopefully the results will do the Tamil film industry proud.

Srikanth’s career is on the upward swing

Srikanth who is currently shooting for Shankar’s Nanban has landed on a promising project. It is innovatively titled, Ethiri En 3. The director is debutant, Ramkumar. The actor is very excited about his role in the film which he is positive will win him a lot of critical as well as popular acclaim.

The film is going to be a commercial one but without the same old ingredients. The subject matter will be shot with a fresh approach that will definitely be much appreciated. Srikanth says he has been waiting for a script like this throughout his career and is pleased to be a part of this project.

‘Orma Mathram’ to start its final schedule

The new movie from Dileep 'Orma Mathram' will have its third schedule at Coimbatore. The movie directed by Madhu Kaithapram in the scripts of C V Balakrishnan will have Dileep as Ajayan, a clerk in the advocate's office.

Priyanka will come up as Safiya, the heroine. The movie which is expected to increase the career graph of Dileep will also feature Dhanya Mary Varghese, Nedumudi Venu, Salimkumar, Harishree Ashokan and Hakeem, in other important roles. M J Radhakrishnan handles the camera while Kaithapram and Kaithapram Viswanath tunes the songs for the flick.

Chaitu’s film climax fight to be stylish

Directed by Ajay Bhuyan and produced by Chandan Reddy on the banner of Kamakshi Kala Movies, an yet to be named film with Naga Chaitanya and Kajal in the lead is currently busy in shooting.

The film unit had recently returned from an abroad schedule at Philippines and Bangkok. A song was also choreographed recently.

As per the latest available information, the director is planning a stylish fight for the climax scene involving a team of international action choreographers.

In a recent post on Twitter, the producer Chandan Reddy says, ‘We summoned a fight master from Thailand and some other fighters from France and Russia to an the action scene which would be shot in a club set.’
Gnanasekhar is cranking the camera, while Dharmendra K is taking care of editing.

Trisha pairs with Venky again

A few pairs are certainly hit combinations in our films. For instance Nagarjuna and Tabu, Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanti, Venkatesh and Soundarya et al.

Offlate Trisha and Venkatesh seem to be such a pair. After their movie 'Adavari Matalaku..' and 'Namo Venkatesha..' turned out to be decent hits, the pair is back again to redo the box office magic. We hear Trisha has been signed in for the remake of 'Bodyguard' to be done with Venkatesh. Apart from this film, Trisha is also pairing with Pawan Kalyan in Theenmaar which is also slated to release this Summer.

Despite tough competition from Nayanatara, Priyamani and Anushka Shetty for this role, Trisha managed to bag it. This movie will be directed by Malineni Gopichand and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.

Malayalam hit Bodyguard was remade into Tamil as Kaavalan. Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan are doing the Hindi version of it too.

This film will go on floors from this Ugadi and the Muhurtham shot will be picturised at Ramanaidu studios.
With Trisha and Venky coming together again, seems like another hit is in the waiting.

Simran becomes mom again

Yesteryear heartthrob Simran became a mother for the second time, when she gave birth to a baby boy once again in Chennai Wednesday.

According to sources close to the actress, both the mother and the infant are doing well.

Simran, who was the numero uno heroine of Kollywood till the late 1990s, married Deepak Bagga, her longtime family friend, in December 2003. The couple already has a son Adeep.

Abinaya confirms birth in ‘7am Arivu’

Abinaya lands dream role!

Bright and sparkling she lent her best to her role as the hero’s sister in ‘Naadodigal’. Kudos to director Samuthirakani for directing Abinaya. While watching ‘Naadodigal’ none of us knew that one of the starcast was a handicapped. Abinaya proved that she was as good as any other actor with a promise to carry off any role with ease. But shockingly the actress did not receive any roles to do post ‘Naadodigal.’
Then came ‘Easan’ with the same Samuthirakani-Sasi Kumar duo which gave a seat to Abinaya in their project. In this film Abinaya played the role of a girl who could neither speak nor hear. Again despite receiving good comments for her performance in ‘Easan’ there were no offers coming her way.

Then fate intervened!

A popular school in Chennai recently had two celebrity guests to host an event. The guests were ‘Ghajini’ fame A.R. Murugadoss and our own Abinaya. When Murugadoss asked Abinaya on which project she was working currently, Abinaya conveyed to him that she did not have any offers. Now Murugadoss was also in the look out for a second heroine for his upcoming project ‘7am Arivu’ which has Suriya and Shruthi Haasan in the lead.

The director is reported to have asked Abinaya if she was interested to play second heroine in his upcoming project ‘7 am Arivu’ and a Abinaya immediately nooded her yes after the director narrated her role in the film. Wow, now you call that coincidence!

The character of Abinaya in ‘7am Arivu’ is strictly under wraps. Now, call it fate or destiny Abinaya has reportedly landed herself a role opposite Punit Rajkumar in a Kannada film!

Golconda High School Movie Review- Save the Ground

Golconda High School stars Sumanth,Swati Reddy(Colors Swati) in the lead roles. Tanikella Bharani, Subbaraju,Shafi,The Kids: Santosh,Sangeet,Srinivas Sai,Farooq,Lalith, and some others, are in other main roles. The movie is directed and written by Mohan Krishan Indraganti, music is by Kalyani Malik. This movie is all about cricket, which gives me another reason to like it;first reason being that what I watched was a MOVIE.:P

Story: Kireet(Subaraju) wants to build a IIT and MCET coaching center on the playground of Golconda High School. But the principal of GHS(Tanikella Bharani) doesn't want that to happen. So Kireet's like oh then show progress! Then the principal says ok, and he says he will improve the Cricket team. So the principal hires Sampath(Sumanth) who was a former student and cricket captain of GHS. What happens after this forms the rest of the story....

Performances: Sumanth was adamant, yet sweet in his role as a coach. Okay, now seriously was Swati necessary?! No. Not at all, she was a waste of footage. She really had nothing to do, I mean she looked gorgeous in saris but nothing to do with the story. But it was shocking for me to see why Swati would pick such a role, when she has picked roles like in "Astha Chemma" or Subramaniyapuram. The real show stealers were the kids! Each kid in the movie, had a different personality but one goal. All them are future actors for sure. :) Subbaraju has a different type of evil tint to his role, you will understand it when you see it. Shafi has a comedy tint to his role :D Tanikella Bharani is obviously good, not the first time he has done a role like this. Great cast :)

The movie is directed by "Astha Chemma" fame Mohan, so there are high expectations. He lives up to them, though there isn't much comedy; the comedy comes out from the kids. The music is western with light beats.

Pros:

  • Casting
  • Story
  • Music
  • The Kids(though they are part of casting, they deserve special mention)
  • Direction
Cons:

  • Swati's useless role :(
  • Not enough depth in some parts.....

Watch it!! :)) Its a very cute movie :) And its a breezy entertainer

4/5 ****/***** I don't see why it doesn't deserve a 4 star rating :)

No One Killed Jessica Movie Review - Real.

No One Killed Jessica stars Vidya Balan,Rani Mukerjee in the lead roles; with Myra Tran,Neil Bhoopalam,Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub,Bubbles Sabharwal and others playing supporting roles. The movie is directed by Ram Kumar Gupta and music is by Amit Trivedi. The film is based on the True Story of Jessica Lall; who was murdered.

Story: Jessica(Myra Tran) gets murdered at a party in which she is serving drinks at. The person who murders her is  the son of a high profile politician. How Jessica's sister,Sabrina,(Vidya Balan) fights for the Justice of Jessica forms the rest of the story.

Myra was gorgeous, and funky in her role :) Vidya was just right, she was perfect. But her costumes looked different from the real Sabrina Lall.  Rani was the just the right "bitch"( as she describes herself in the film) to do the film, she was wild, yet had a sweet heart. :) The rest of the cast was great too, nice job in casting,Ram and Gautam Kishanchandani!:) All the actors poured life into their roles.

Music by Amit Trivedi is touching, but what adds soul to the songs are the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. They just flow with the mood and scenes of the film.

I truly salute the director for making such a true film, it was really heart breaking but at the same time touching. Jessica Lall's story is a huge tragedy. She didn't deserve to die at all. Sad to see all the witnesses turn hostile except one. Her sister is a role model for everyone, she stood up for what was right and so did the people of the country. Every aspect of this film is real, nothing filmy about it.

After I saw the movie, I read about Jessica's death, and everything matched up, though I couldn't find anything about the reporter.....

Don't miss out on such a film, watch it; definitely will leave an impression.

Whether it is his breathtaking Ashoka or the beautiful Anandabhadram, Santosh Sivan's quest for mesmerizing locales is neverending. Similarly, the cinematographer turned director is back with some never-seen-before locations in his upcoming multistarrerUrumi. This time, Sivan has chosen some interior spots in Malshej Ghats, Maharashtra and Chalakudy forest, Kerala.

But according to lead actor Prithviraj, the shooting of Urumi was no bed of roses. "To reach the location, we first travelled by car and then a tractor. Finally, there was a long walk involved before we reached the location in Malshej Ghats, Maharashtra. It was physically as well as mentally taxing, but we are all happy with the effort as the film has come out better than expected," Prithvi was quoted saying.

'Dongalamutaa' bags U certificate

Ramgopal Varma's innovative venture 'Dongalamutaa' completed its censor on Tuesday and was given a clean 'U' certificate. The film will now release on this Friday the 18th.

Raviteja, Charmee, Laxmi Manchu, Bramhanandam, Subbaraju, Sunil and Venumadhav starrer movie made in a record number of 4.5 days is now hitting the screens this week admist high anticipation.

Made with a shoe string budget with absolutely no remuneration, Dongalamuta is shot on a Cannon 5D still camera which is first ever kind of feature film in Indian cinematic history.

If this movie works at the box office, it could completely change the dynamics of film making and the showbizz. Both RGV and Raviteja are going all their way out to promote this film like never before. Since Varma's KSD-Appalraju was a big flop, he is leaving no stone unturned to make as much money as possible with this flick.

Venky's Bodyguard remake starts shoot on April 4

Victory Venkatesh seems to be on a remake movie spree. After doing Nagavalli which was a remake of Kannada Aaptarakshaka, Venky is now doing the remake of Malayalam blockbuster 'Bodyguard'. This movie will go on floors from April 4th which also happens to be Ugadi. The Muhurtham shot will be picturised at Ramanaidu studios on April 4th.

Priyamani is most likely the heroine in this flick. Anushka was supposed to do this film but since she is busy shooting for other movies, Priyamani has been roped in. Malineni Gopichand will direct it and Bellamkonda Suresh will produce it on his Sri Sai Ganesh productions. Incidentally, Bellamkonda produced Venky's remake movie 'Nagavalli' last.

The movie was originally made in Malayalam with Dileep and Nayantara in the lead roles. Siddiqui directed the original flick. It turned out to be a big hit there and every one started remaking it.   Bodyguard has been remade into Tamil in which Vijay and Asin played the main charecters. It is now being remade in Hindi with Salman Khan as the lead man. Kareena Kapoor is playing the heroine in Hindi version. With Venkatesh doing it in Telugu, this script has been shot in all major languages.
