Arjunan Saakshi Movie Review-Could have been better

Arjunan Saakshi stars Prithviraj,Ann Augustine in the lead roles, with Nedumundi Venu,Biju Menon,Suresh Krishna, and more in supporting roles. Cinematography by Ajayan Vincent, and editing done by Ranjan Abraham. Its directed by Ranjith Shankar, whose directed Passenger in 2009,which was a hit.

Plot: AS is basically about how an Architect,Roy Matthew(Prithviraj), gets trapped in serious situation; and how he solves it. Through it he understands the position of Gods Own Country(Kerala).

Performances: Prithviraj, not bad at all, AS was not a film in which he acted differently than others. Ann Augustine was apt in her character she had, although it was not  a lengthy one, it sure was a character that makes the story change. All others were good too.

Music: Music was by Bijipal, sadly not anything great to talk about.

Cinematography and Editing: The camera work by Ajayan Vincent IS something to talk about. The crash scene was wonderfully captured. As the viewer, it truly scared me a bit! Editing by Ranjan Abraham was a bit of a disappointment, the slow-motion was not needed, yet was inserted. Also, the movie could of been better if some scenes were cut out. Sorry Ranjan!

I want to end the review, talking about the direction. Sadly, Ranjith Shankar does NOT live up to his Passenger. Arjunan Saakshi lacked the pace and intensity of a so called thriller. It got slow at bits, and I found myself losing attention at some parts. AS also missed out on the suspense factor. The only suspense factor was: Who is Arjunan? But, the movie does carry a social message for the audience, mostly on humanity.

At last, the movie is a one-time watcher and leaves you with the question: Who is Arjunan??  I know the answer, do you?

Rating: 2.75/5
