Popular South Indian singer Swarnalatha (37), passed away today in Chennai due to lung related problems.
Born in Palakkad, Kerala, Swarnalatha has rendered songs in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Urdu and Badaga.
Swarnalatha is famous for her National Award winning song 'Porale Ponnuthayi', composed by A.R. Rahman from Karuththamma (1995). She has also worked with many great music composers, including Ilaiyaraaja, MSV and Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.
