'Vedi' audio this September 1!

'Vedi' that is directed by Prabhu Deva has Vishal and Sameera or should we say, Sexy Sam, essaying lead roles. The film has its tunes composed by Vijay Antony, and the audio launch will be held on September 1!

The talkie portions of the film are wrapped up and the song shoot is going on at a speedy pace too. Two songs will be canned in unseen and exotic locales of South Africa.

The film is the remake of Telugu super hit, 'Souryam' that featured Gopichand and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. Those close to the 'Vedi' unit vouch that Vishal and Sameera share an amazing on-screen chemistry and that the songs and action sequences from the film will sure set a rage among the young.

We must say, 'Velayudham', another Vijay Antony's musical offering, is also seeing the audio launch by the end of August. Looks like Vijay Antony is all set to rule the roost this season!

Vishal, the good Samaritan

He is tall, dark and handsome too. His last release has taken is performance in K'town up by many notches. We are discussing 'Walter Vanangamudi' of Bala's 'Avan Ivan' better known to us all as Vishal!

The actor has carved a niche for himself in the slot of excellent artists with his above-mentioned role in director Bala's film.

The actor who is at the moment shooting for Prabhu Deva's upcoming 'Vedi' alongside Sameera Reddy recently came across a news item when his heart went out to the people involved. It was about a woman who had robbed a lady at an ATM at gun point (the only difference, the gun was a toy), claiming that she had robbed to feed her two children who had been foodless for two days.

Vishal reading this story in a popular daily is believed to have contacted his co-star Sameera to help him find out about the whereabouts of this woman who was in police custody in Kolkata.

Sameera seems to have zeroed in on the news provider who has in turn contacted the actor. All the actor now wants to know is if the woman's reason to rob was genuine for if she was faking. If the reason is genuine then Vishal wants to help her children and support them financially.

Vishal ready with a 'Vedi' for Diwali...

Post 'Avan Ivan' the actor in Vishal has been truly recognized by one and all, and expectations on his next ventures are shooting up sky high. As earlier reported, Vishal is teaming up with Sameera Reddy under Prabhu Deva's direction for a diwali release that was tentatively titled 'Prabhakaran'.

This film is a remake of Tollywood super hit, 'Souryam' and is gearing up for a Diwali release, and the latest buzz is that the movie has seen a title change to 'Vedi'! Sounds like a perfect diwali release, doesn't it?

This film sees Vishal and Poonam Kaur as siblings, and it must be noted that Poonam donned the original role as well, whereas Sameera plays Vishal's love interest. The original lead roles were reprised by Gopichand and Anushka Shetty.

It is also said that through 'Vedi' Sameera will try her hands at comedy for the first time ever and there's a hot item number with Sophie Choudry. All set for some 'Vedi' this festival of lights?

Silambarasan, Karthi, Jiiva, Vishal awed

A special screening of the Pillaiyar Theru Kadeisi Veedu was showcased for actors like Silambarasan, Karthi, Jiiva, Bharath, Vishal, Bhagyaraj, Sibiraj, SP Jananathan and others at the Four Frames Theatre in Chennai.

All those who had come to this screening said that they were expecting a comedy flick but were surprised at the turn of events after the interval. Everyone present lauded the efforts of Jithan Ramesh and were positive that PTKV would turn out to be a re-entry for its lead star.

The locations in which the film was shot awed those present at the show. Jiiva said that he never realized that such locations existed within Tamil Nadu. There are several twists and turns in the film and director Thirumalai Kishore has managed to keep the suspense factor intact said the stars.

'Avan Ivan' this June 17

And now, it's for sure. The much-awaited Bala's flick featuring Vishal, Arya, Madhu Shalini and Janani Iyer in the lead roles will hit the screens on June 17. Both the Tamil and Telugu versions will release together, confirm sources.

Those who have watched the premiere of 'Avan Ivan' vouch that the movie will be much-talked-about and receive National Awards more than one. They say, on par with Vishal and Arya's performance will be that of GM Kumar's, who plays a pivotal in this movie.

The songs are tuned in by Yuvan Shankar Raja, but then, they are not just another Yuvan's track list. When you listen to the songs, one will sure see a whole new side of Yuvan and for sure, when the songs are paired with the visuals it will be a treat for one and all.

'Avan Ivan' completed

Bala is a director who will be in the news with whatever he does. The latest being that he has completed the shooting of ‘Avan Ivan’.

Purist Bala is known for his long schedules and time taken for perfection. 'Avan Ivan' was launched on January 25 last year and when it started Bala actually surprised everyone by saying that he will complete the film in record 90 days.

But Bala being Bala took his time and has finally wrapped up the shooting yesterday. Even by his scale it the fastest ever film of his.

The completion of ‘Avan Ivan’ is a relief not only to Bala. The major liberation is for Vishal who had been biting his nails for wanting to start his new film to be directed by Prabhu Deva. This new film was scheduled to start by December but delayed as Vishal was still with Bala in Theni.

‘Avan Ivan’ stars Arya and Vishal in daringly different roles sculpted by Bala. Janani Aiyar is the heroine. It is expected both the lead actors will get the break of their career with this film. ‘Avan Ivan’ is slated for release in April.

‘Avan Ivan’ in April

Putting an end to speculations over the release of Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’, the Arya-Vishal starrer, producers of the film AGS Entertainment have come out with an announcement- that the movie will be released in April.

“Bala has completed a major part of the movie. But for a few scenes and post production work, everything is over as far as Avan Ivan is concerned. So the film will sure hit the screens this April,” sources say.

“This will be the first light-hearted and commercial film from Bala,” they say and add: “At the same time, there will be the touches of the director all over. It is going to be a big summer treat this year.”

Yuvanshankar Raja is composing music for ‘Avan Ivan’, while dialogues are by popular Tamil writer S Ramakrishnan. Cinematography is by Arthur A Wilson while editing by Suresh Urs.

Prabhu Deva’s condition…

Prabhu Deva’s next film with Vishal in the lead will have Vivek playing the comedian. As per the script, Vivek plays the role of a gym master, we are told. According to sources in Kollywood, the director suggested that Vivek sport a six-pack to fit into the role.

Following this the comedian is working overtime to make sure he is ready with a six pack right in time for the shooting.

Prabhu Deva has not yet titled this film, which has Vishal and Sameera Reddy playing the lead pair.

Vishal’s 15 kilos dilemma

Director Bala had changed Vishal for the better. The actor who believed in six-packs and macho image is convinced to look what his character would need.

For ‘Avan Ivan’ Bala wanted Vishal to add on 15 kilos and the actor did it. Bala is a perfectionist and so he got what he wanted.

Now that ‘Avan Ivan’ is in its final stages and Vishal will be moving on to his next project directed by Prabhu Deva, a different task awaits Vishal. He has to lose the 15 kilos gained for Bala’s film to start shooting for Prabhu Deva’s film.

Vishal is taking up the challenge and says he will do it. After all he is enjoying the wonderful moments with two big directors. Sameera Reddy is the heroine of the film directed by Prabhu Deva which will begin in the first week of December.

Manoj and Varun to play together

GK Film Corporation, which is used to make films with Vishal as hero in Tamil and dub them into Telugu, is now getting ready to produce a straight Telugu film.

Vikram Krishna had a good acquaintance with the Telugu audiences with many hit films like ‘Pandem Kodi, Pogaru and Bharani’.

The latest buzz is that he is producing a straight Telugu film and chose Manchu Manoj and Varun Sandesh as heroes for this triangular love subject.

The producer says, ‘Youthful director Tiru prepared a nice triangular love story and narrated it to me and I was quite impressed with it. As per the story, it should have two heroes and a heroine. So, we have selected Manoj and Varun Sandesh as heroes. A popular heroine was selected as heroine but we are yet to get a nod from her. After finalising the heroine, we will announce her name and list of other artistes and technicians. We are planning to formally launch the film in December and continue our first schedule for about 10 days. The second schedule was planned in January and February wherein we will complete the talkie part. Songs would be choreographed in foreign locales in March which would be the third schedule. Thaman had agreed to score tunes for the movie. Story, screenplay and direction would be handled by Thiru.’
