Trisha cautions fans

Trisha is very happy to be a part of Mankatha as she is a huge Ajith fan and loves working with him. She can't stop raving about how brilliant he is and his many talents.

Ajith's heroine had a word of caution for the fans though. She has requested them to watch the film with a completely open mind. Usually fans expect certain things in their favorite hero's films and feel cheated if those elements have been left out. Trisha said that this is hard on the stars. The fans should just enjoy the ride and prepare to be surprised but in a pleasant way.

Trisha is pleased that the audio sales have gone through the roof and she said that it is not surprising because the Yuvan - Venkat Prabhu combo is a good one and the cousins always do brilliant work together.

‘Vaanam’ songs from March 21

The audio launch of the Simbu starrer ‘Vaanam’ which was expected happen on March 15 has been pushed by a week. Now it is rescheduled for March 21.

One reason cited for the postponement is this. The hype created by the single ‘evandi unnai pethan’ has made the audio company to promote the song as a music video. The music video is currently under production and the team wanted the music video also be premiered on the same stage where the audio launch happens.

The rocking music of ‘Vaanam’ by Yuvan Shankar Raja is said to be one of the big highlights of the film apart from the terrific cast comprising Simbu, Anushka, Bharath, Vega, Prakash Raj, Sonia Agarwal, Jasmine, Santhanam and others.

Yuvan, ‘Avan Ivan’

Yuvan Shankar Raja is hoping big on Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’. The music composer is singing paeans on the movie, which has Vishal and Arya in the lead roles.

“Saw the first half of ‘Avan Ivan’ yesterday. Vishal has done a great job. Really no words to say. Lot of importance to BGM, can't wait to start,” the Illayaraja Junior wrote on his microblogging page.

This is second time for Yuvan to join hands with Bala, with the first time being ‘Nandha’. Interestingly, the music for Bala’s all other films (‘Sethu’, ‘Pithamagan’ and ‘Naan Kadavul’) were scored by Illayaraja.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, ‘Avan Ivan’ is touted to be a hilarious entertainer. The National Award winning director completed the shooting in 300 days, by canning the film in and around Theni and Periakulam.

Selva’s film with Kamal on. Yuvan too joins

It seems like the project will happen sooner than expected. Sources say Selvaraghavan will start directing Kamal Haasan from as early as April there by realizing one of his wildest dreams.

Selva is expected to wrap up his thriller ‘Irandam Ulagam’ latest by end of March so that his film with Kamal may be officially launched in April. Selva recently floored Kamal with his one liner and the legend has asked Selva to begin working on the complete script.

If sources are to be believed Kamal Haasan will be playing a radical revolutionary. Earlier when news appeared saying Kamal and Selva are joining hands, there were skeptic reactions as well.

Things are fine now. Another high light of this film would be Yuvan Shankar Raja returning to his good friend Selvaraghavan.

Shocking news for Yuvan’s fans!

Yuvan Shankar Raja has said in a micro-blogging site that he will refrain from singing henceforth. This news has naturally come as a shock to all Yuvan fans who look forward to his reverberating voice in his albums.

The musician has reportedly said that he had enough films on hands to compose music and he would like to concentrate on it rather than singing. Yuvan, however, says that this is not a permanent decision but he will resume singing after some time.

Yuvan has a long line-up of releases Avan Ivan, Billa 2, Irandam Ulagam, Mankatha and Adhi Bagwan.

Srikant, Kajal to share screen with Pawan Kalyan

A real hero is the one who doesn’t crumble with a defeat and tries his best to resurrect and prove himself. Power Star Pawan Kalyan appears to have been following the same principle.

Though ‘Puli’ was proved a disaster, he did not cave-in and started accepting films one after the other and is planning to release at least three films this year.

Besides, he ventured into production too and launched his own banner Pawan Kalyan Creative Works. He is planning to remake recent Bollywood hit film ‘Dabang’ into Telugu as ‘Gabbar Singh’ under the direction of Harish Shankar of ‘Mirapakay’-fame.

While Pawan Kalyan is going to portray the role played by Salman Khan, while Srikanth was selected to play the role of Arbaaz Khan. Kajal, who gained the stardom with Mega Power Star Ram Charan, was selected to share the screen with Power Star donning the character played Sonakshi Sinha.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music.

Friendship calls ‘Shiva’ and ‘Yuvan’

Can you call this a bond on inspiring friendship? Absolutely, Shiva and Yuvan Shankar Raja have been close paisanos right from the early days. When Shiva suggested Yuvan Shankar Raja for ‘Pathinaaru’, the producers were deliberately reluctant as they felt their budget won’t meet his remuneration.

Shiva was sure enough of roping in Yuvan as he strictly conditioned him that remuneration will be relatively lesser than his usual standard. However Yuvan accepted the offer for the sake of friendship and delivered music on his own inspirations. The result? The songs of ‘Pathinaaru’ have become instant hits as the tracks are ringing

The actress has flown down to Bangkok along with the Mankatha unit where the intro song Vilayadu Mankatha is being shot.

Yuvan to play with fire

A good news for all Yuvan Shankar Raja fans. The music composer, who is getting ready for his first ever live concert in Chennai, is thinking out of the box to make the show a memorable one.
One of the storyboards Yuvan and his team have designed for the event, shows the music director playing piano in fire as part of the concert. "Yes, there will be some special attractions", confirm sources close to Yuvan.
Meanwhile, Yuvan has expressed happiness that the audio of 'Vaanam', in which he is coming together with his good friend STR (Silambarasan) again, is getting ready to hit stores after some hiccups.
"Vaanam’s single should be out for Deepavali. Sorry for the delay as the producer had some issues with giving the audio rights. All have been sorted now", the Illayaraja junior has said.

Yuvan starts playing ‘Mankatha’

No he’s not exactly playing the ‘inside-outside’ game but Yuvan Shankar Raja has started composing tunes for his Cousin Venkat Prabhu’s ambitious project ‘Mankatha’.

Yuvan’s compositions for Venkat Prabhu movies so far have been chart toppers right from Chennai-28 till Goa, so rest assured ‘Mankatha’ that has Ajith as the trump card will be no exception. And did you people have a look at the ‘Mankatha’ posters, one sight and that gets you into retro mode!

Ajith is in focus and is accessorized with sunglasses, while aiming a gun and below him is the logo of the movie that has the four symbols of the playing cards! Creatively designed, we should agree! Recall, Venkat Prabhu’s previous movie logos, ‘Chennai-28’ was like blocks in an inland-letter envelope, while ‘Saroja’ was like a name board and ‘Goa’ with a bottle and wine glass hidden within. Going by the ‘Mankatha’ poster, Ajith fans would be delighted to see the lower-right corner where it says the movie is coming in Summer 2011! Are we hearing the ‘thalai’ screams already?

As the director says, the movie will be a fun ride, and with Ajith in it you can expect it to be a roller-coaster ride! ‘Mankatha’ is produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri for Cloud Nine Movies.

YUVAN SAYS NO

Yuvan has fiercely denied rumors about him composing background score for the Hindi movie Aakrosh. Earlier there were speculations that the Priyadarshan directed movie will have Yuvan's BGM. Songs for Aakrosh are composed by Pritam.

Yuvan is currently busy scoring for Avan Ivan and Aadhi Bhagavan. Yuvan has let out that the tracks of Avan Ivan will have no western influence.

SURIYA AND ARYA SHARE THE DAIS

The audio of Boss Engiran Baskaran was launched at the Sathyam Cinemas complex on August 27th, 2010 with a host of celebrities attending the event. Suriya, as reported earlier, released the first copy of the CD and music director Harris Jayaraj received it.

Though the film’s lead star Arya was present, its leading lady Nayanthara did not make it to the audio launch. Yuvan Shankar Raja had scored the music for this film. Three songs from the film and a trailer were showcased for the audience and everyone was at awe at the way they were filmed.

The film’s distributor Udayanidhi Stalin, producer KS Srinivasan, Parthiban, Rama Narayanan, G Dhananjayan, director Vijay, Ravi K Chandran, Amirtham, T Siva and Santhanam were present at this audio launch function.

Music Directors....Part 1

Music is a something that makes you happy, sad, mad,or makes you dance! :D But there are certain Music Directors
that can make you do those... like:
A.R Rahman
He is the music maestro of not just Chennai, but of India! Who can forget AR Rahman winning the Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire ?! It was a great thing for

all of India, which made every Indian proud , regardless of language! His music is just so different from others.. It just has something different about it. He is just too awesome... :) His music speaks for himself,so he doesn't need anyexplanation. :) Myfavorite albums are of his are: Komaram Puli,Raavanan/Raavan,Vinnaithandhi Varuvayaa,Slumdog Millionare
(of course! :D),Jodha Akbar,Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,Azhagiya Tamil Magan,Sivaji the Boss,Varalaru,Sillunu Oru Kaadhal,New/Naani,Aayutha Ezhuthu/Yuva,Ennaku 20 Unnaku18,Boys,Baba,KannathilMuthamittal,Thenali,Rhythm,Kandu
kondeinKandukondein,Alaipayuthey,Mudhalvan,Padayappa,Jeans,Dil Se,Iruvar,Ratchgan
,Minsara Kanavu, and Kadhalan.Best ones are bolded :) Those are only my favorites so far, because there are so many more to come :) And I also really liked the tamil anthem song Senmozhi! It was really cool to get that many singers all together for one song! :D He composed it very well too :) From A.R Rahman
compositions, I would say Munbe Vaa will always be in my heart, because I loved the song soo much because it was about love and AR composed such a great song. :D

Vidyasagar
Vidyasagar to me has the ability to make any type of music. I mean he can do melodies, kuthu or mass songs,or amercanish songs,or amercanish mixed with kuthu lol :D. For example in the super hit album Dhool in 2003 he did kuthu songs for it like IthununduAruva Meesai,In

thadi. But he also did a romantic melody Aasai Aasai which was not kuthu. Same with other albums like Kuruvi,Majaa, and tons of others. Another album
which is worth mentioning is the tamil album for the movie Mozhi in 2007. In this album he did two of the best melodies I have ever listened to: Kannal Pesum Penne sung
by the great S.P Balasubramaniam and two versions of Katrin Mozhiye one was sung by Sujatha and one sung by Balaram both were very beautiful. The lyrics were meaningful too, which made you feel the songs.Kannal Pesum was a modification of Yella
man from the Vidyasagar's malayalam album Satyam Sivam Sundaram The critically claimed songs of the album were Katrin Mozhi and Sevanam Sellaikatti, which was also a mesmerizing song :D In Malayalam,Vidyasagar seems to score alot for Dileep. But I must say, I love his Kuthu songs! :D
My favorite albums of Vidyasagar are: Mozhi,Mulla,Meesa Madhavan,Pappi Appacha,Kochi Rajavu,Poovellam Un Vaasam,Nilavae Vaa,Villian,Dhool,Thirumalai,Ghilli,Madhurey,Ji,Chandramukhi,Maaja,Aathi,Kuruvi,Kandean Kadhalai,Anbe Sivam Bangaram. As of now those are my favs. :)

Srikanth
Deva
I am a fan of Srikanth's Kuthu/Mass songs! They make me wanna dance, and make up dance moves! lol :D But his songs are really fun to listen to! :D He is just like his dad music director Deva, who included Mass songs in every movie :D. The first songs I heard from him were the songs fr
om the Sivakasi whichI liked very much especially Kodambakkam Area and Ada Ennatha. The song Vacchukka from M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi was awesome, it was ultimate kuthu! lol :D Everything went together for that song the beat, dance moves, vocals, everything! The song Bhamabara Kannaley was very very cool too :D it made me dance hard:D..My favorite
albums of him are : Sivakasi,M.Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi,Bhambara Kannaley,Sarvana,Aalwar,Thiruvannamalai,Guru En Aalu, and Perumal. Its funny how he incorporates mass beats even into romantic beats, but I still like it :D

Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja is the son of the very popular and prominent Illaiyaraaja. Yuvan Shankar Raja's type of music seems to be very westernized, with albums like Goa,Baana Kaathadi,Sarvam, and others. But I do really like his music :) His tunes are always full of life especially albums like Vaamanan, Oy!,Paiyaa,Naan Mahan Alla and soo many others. :) I think he has lived up to his fathers name, personally :) His voice sounds lazy, yet suits many types of songs. My favorite albums of his are: Oy!,Sarvam,Paiyaa,Naan Mahan
Alla,Vaamanan,Goa,Dheena,Manmadhan,Kanda Naal Mudhal,Sandakozhi,Happy,Vallavan,Pudhupettai,Adavari Mataluku Ardhale Verulu,Yardi Nee Mohini,Satham Podathey,Kannamoochi Yenada,Vel,Billa,Aegan,Silambattam,Siva Mansula Sakthi,Thillalangadi,Pattiyal and Theeratha Villayatu Pillai,.

S.S Thaman or Thaman S.
One of the new music
directors on the block, with freaking awesome tunes! :D

Well, first Thaman was actor he acted in Shankar's "Boys" as Krishna. Then he turned music director with the Tamil movie Sindhanai Sei in 2008. Since then he has scored many hit songs in Telugu and Tamil. His music is different too, it has an airy feel :D
I think he uses effects in his music lol :D But it seems like he does, like for his kuthu songs and some of his other songs. If you have listened to his songs you would . :D But I have always liked his music :D His voice sounds deep and high at the same which is cool. His music is mostly kuthu/mass but with a little melody. His song Mazhaayie Mazhaayie from Eeram was a big hit in Tamil in 2009,it had a romantic feel to it. :D His songs from Kick were also a big hit in Telugu that same year, especially the songs Dhim Thana,Gore Gore, and I don't want love.My favorite albums of his are Kick,Thillanagdi,Moscowin Kaveri,Anjaneyulu,Eeram,
Sankham,Jayeebhava,Ayyanar, and Arindhu Arindhu. So basically almost all of them as of now, but more to come :D.

G.V Prakash
Okay, first of all I should mention that G.V Prakash is A.R Rahman's own nephew,so that has brought up the expectations of many. He debuted with the Tamil movie album Veyil, and the whole album was a hit! :D But the hit songs among the album were Urugudhey and Veyiloodu Vilaiyadu. Now to my opinion,I always like his music, I think most of it is classy. I think you will notice it if you listen to his songs from Polladhavan,Kireedam,Madrasinpattinam,Aayrithil Oruvan, Kaalai,Kuslean/Kathanayakudu,Ullasamga Utsahamga, and Darling.
My favorites from G.V Prakash have so far been the albums mentioned :D. But I always will love the song Akkam Pakkam from Kireedam, it is such a marvelous song with Sadhana Sargam singing it, and the sweet lyrics add to it. <3.

M.M Keeravani
I havent listened to any other albums of Keeravani except the ones from 2003(telugu). Even though he is old, Keeravani has managed to come up with young, fresh tunes! :D When I had no clue how old he was or how he looked,I thought he was because to me his voice sounded so young. But then after I saw a photo of him I was like WOW! he is pretty old but as a cool, young voice :D. My favorite albums from Keeravani are : Simhadri,Sye,Chatrapathi,Anukokonda Oka Roju,Vikramarkudu,Yamadonga,Magadheera,Vedam and Marayadha Ramanna.Almost all of his albums were hits! Especially the ones mentioned. My favorite right now is Prapancham Naaventostunta!( you can find the music video below in my Vedam review). It sounds so refreshing and makes me want to sing out load! :D The music video is really cool and has awesome dance movies :D.

I hope you liked my article :D But this is just Part 1, keep checking out the blog for the three other parts. Enjoy! :)
