It's time to shoot 'Maatran'

Now that Suriya has completed '7am Arivu' and K V Anand is ready with the complete script of 'Maatran', it's time for the duo to start the film. We learn that the movie would go on floors after the wedding of Karthi, Suriya's younger brother.

"Suriya is extremely busy these days making arrangements and inviting friends and relatives for Karthi's marriage in Coimbatore (July 3) and reception in Chennai (July 7). He will be free only in the second week of July," say sources.

"Before the shoot, Suriya has to do some homework for his getup in Maatran, as Anand has asked for a more suave and stylish look of him. The shoot may start with a song which will be shot in an exotic locale," they add.

Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment, 'Maatran' brings together Suriya and Anand after the super hit 'Ayan'. Other members of the 'Ayan' team - music composer Harris Jayaraj and writers Subha are also there in 'Maatran'.

Kollywood and Tollywood to ban Kajal Agarwal

Kajal Agarwal has got into trouble for making a statement during the promo event of the Hindi flick Singham, which is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Singam, starring Suriya. The actress had said that she never considered herself to be a south Indian actress as she is a north Indian by birth.

This comment has now snowballed into a huge controversy. The Tamil and Telugu film fraternity are upset with Kajal Agarwal for making such a statement when she depended on these film industries till she got an offer to star in a Hindi film.

There is a widespread demand that Kajal should apologize for her statement, if not she will have to face a ban.

Kajal as Goan girl in 'Singam'

Kajal Agarwal who is making her debut in Hindi version of 'Singam' with Ajay Devgn is playing the role of a Goan girl. She herself revealed this to the media recently.

Though Anushka Shetty played the role in Tamil and Telugu versions of this film, Kajal bagged it in Hindi. When asked if she would imitate Anushka in Hindi version, she said,

"Absolutely not. I am playing the role of a Goan girl in this movie. It is made according to the sensibilities of Hindi audience. I have started shooting for this film. Infact my role has been re-written completely for this film. Anushka did a great job in 'Singam' that released as 'Yamudu' in Telugu. If I have any doubts on the role, I will certainly contact her" Kajal said.

Riding high on success with 'Darling', 'Mr Perfect' and 'Brindavanam', Kajal is now number one heroine in Tollywood. She is being talked about as the next Soundarya, thanks to her roles. We are yet to see how her career in Bollywood shapes up.

Mr. Perfect audio release on March 19

The audio of Rebel star Prabhas' Dasarath directed Mr. Perfect, starring Kajal and Tapsee as the heroines, will be released on March 19 at CBIT Engineering College Gandipet, Hyderabad. Music is by Devisri Prasad.

The film is produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. This shooting is almost complete except three songs. Vijay K. Chakravarthy handles camera while editing is by Marthand K. Venkatesh. The makers are planning to release the movie on April 7.

Simbu wants Sonam, rejects Kajal Agarwal

As usual this Silambarasan film too is creating anxieties even before it is officially launched. The Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster ‘Dabangg’ is keeping its hero Silambarasan on the edge.

Apparently Silambarasan has rejected the choice of Kajal Agarwal as the heroine. Sources say Silambarasan is looking for a top heroine from Bollywood and extra efforts are taken on his behalf to convince Sonam Kapoor to sign on the dotted line.

Kajal Agarwal who is making her grand debut in Bollywood with ‘Singam’ remake opposite Ajay Devgan, is still finding it difficult to get a strong foothold in Kollywood.

Meanwhile the director who will direct the ‘Dabangg’ remake is also finalized… well almost. The last news that came in on this regard says the ‘Dhool’ ‘Ghilli’ Dharani will wield the megaphone. Dharani’s big budget Telugu project titled ‘Merupu’ with Ram Charan Teja has been dropped and the director is available.

Srikant, Kajal to share screen with Pawan Kalyan

A real hero is the one who doesn’t crumble with a defeat and tries his best to resurrect and prove himself. Power Star Pawan Kalyan appears to have been following the same principle.

Though ‘Puli’ was proved a disaster, he did not cave-in and started accepting films one after the other and is planning to release at least three films this year.

Besides, he ventured into production too and launched his own banner Pawan Kalyan Creative Works. He is planning to remake recent Bollywood hit film ‘Dabang’ into Telugu as ‘Gabbar Singh’ under the direction of Harish Shankar of ‘Mirapakay’-fame.

While Pawan Kalyan is going to portray the role played by Salman Khan, while Srikanth was selected to play the role of Arbaaz Khan. Kajal, who gained the stardom with Mega Power Star Ram Charan, was selected to share the screen with Power Star donning the character played Sonakshi Sinha.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music.

Ileana may replace Kajal in Merupu

Even as ‘Orange’ is on sets, the shooting of ‘Merupu’ was launched and Ram Charan took part in both the shootings for some time. However, because of the abroad schedule, Ram Charan gave a break to the shooting of ‘Merupu’ after the first schedule and completed ‘Orange’ first. Soon after its completion, Ram Charan decided to take a break and went on a holiday to an island near Andaman.

Ram Charan was supposed to pair up with Kajal for second time in ‘Merupu’ after their successful combination of ‘Magadheera’. With the delayed start of ‘Merupu’ second schedule, Kajal kept herself off from the film as she expressed her inability to adjust the dates.

The latest buzz from the film industry is that Ileana might replace Kajal in ‘Merupu’. However, the film- makers are yet to confirm this news.

Kajal, Samanta turn good friends

It is not a surprise when people working together would befriend with each other. However, the film industry is an exception. If there are two heroines in a film, they keep on complaining against each other or for something about their costumes, longevity of character, songs and what not. The producer and the director had to face so many problems from them.
However, here is an exception to this kind of environment. In ‘Brindavanam’ of Dil Raju, NTR paired up with Kajal and Samanta.
During the entire shooting time, the heroines moved so closely as if they know each other for long. They became good friends by the time, the shooting schedule was complete.
Such instances are quite rare, especially these days, exclaimed Dil Raju.

Roles appreciated in Naan Mahan Alla

Naan Mahaan Alla is a blockbuster, no doubt. The film’s lead actor Karthi’s performance was well-appreciated by all those who have seen the movie. Also appreciated for their excellent performance were the five baddies. While one of them is an assistant to NMA’s director Sussendiran, the rest were chosen by the director by chance meeting.

It was interesting to note that these five young baddies, during climax fight sequence, caught the attention of the audience. This surely needs to be appreciated considering the fact that all these youngsters are debutantes.

Karthi is professional: Kajal

Kajal Agarwal is all praise for her ‘Nan Mahan Alla’ co-star Karthi Sivakumar even as the film directed by Suseendiran is hitting the screens in a big way today. “He is a thorough professional,” she says.

“Karthi is full of energy. Working with him is nothing short of a delight. He would spread his positive vibes to every member of the unit and made every day of shooting an interesting thing,” the actress says.

Throwing light on her character in the film, she says, “I play Priya, a girl next door. She is not the usual heroine, but silent, calm and reserved. I am satisfied with the way my character is shaped up in the movie.”

Expressing gratitude to Suseendiran, she says, “But for him, I wouldn’t have landed up as the heroine of Nan Mahan Alla. It is a very interesting script which will bring on screen a different side of Chennai.”
