Myna director's next

After the success of Myna, Prabhu Solomon has become much sought after in the film industry. For his next film, he has roped in Vikranth to play the lead. The film is set in the forests of Kerela and is inspired from true events. It will deal with the problems faced by the people in that rough terrain especially their troubles with the elephants who roam the area freely and occassionally run amuck.

The heroine has not been finalized yet. The director is also putting together a team for his crew.

Sneha follows Shriya and Anushka

Shriya Saran is a Yoga buff and Anushka is one step ahead being a Yoga teacher herself. They both have a great figure and glowing skin which most actress envy. Following their footsteps, Sneha has also joined the Yoga league.

She is currently practicing yoga and says that she spends at least two hours a day on it. According to Sneha, Yoga is the secret for the glow in her skin these days. Apart from yoga, Sneha is also into strict diet and avoids certain types of foods.

After OK OK, it's Karthi

Director Rajesh has said that he will be directing Karthi after completing Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. The director is currently busy directing Udayanidhi Stalin in OK OK and has said he will move on to direct Karthi after this.

This venture will be produced by Studio Green, Rajesh revealed. However, he was not forthcoming about the storyline. Judging by his previous films Siva Manasule Shakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran, sources in Kollywood say that this venture could also be a comedy.

The female lead, music director and other cast and crew will be finalized soon.

Nanban nearing completion

Shooting for Nanban is going on at breakneck pace at Sun Studios, Chennai. Currently Vijay and Srikanth's scenes are being filmed. Word is that Nanban will be wrapped up by August 5th and post-production will get underway.

Shankar being quite the perfectionist is working very hard to ensure that there are no glitches. Insiders are claiming that the ensemble cast which Shankar and the producers took so much time to finalize have gelled perfectly and the results will be evident on the big screen. If all goes according to plan, Nanban will be a Diwali release.

Filmfare South awards on July 2nd

The prestigious Filmfare South awards ceremony will be held at Hyderabad on July 2nd. Last year, this award ceremony was held at Chennai and this year, Hyderabad has been chosen as the venue.

Chiranjeevi's son and actor Ramcharan revealed the details about the award ceremony. Since he is also one of the brand ambassador of Idea Cellular which is sponsoring the event, he was present at the press conference of Filmfare award ceremony.

Ramcharan recalled that his dad Chiranjeevi won Filmfare awards eight times in his career and that he won two Filmfare awards so far. He expressed happiness over his movie 'Orange' being nominated in the 'best music' category for Filmfare this time.

"Filmfare awards are being given since the past 58 years. Since they are credible awards unlike many, Filmfare retains its importance this time. Filmfare South award ceremony will be held at Hyderabad on July 2nd. We will all be there to witness the ceremony. Dasari Narayana Rao said that heroes are not attending the award ceremonies offlate and I think it is a wrong statement." Ramcharan said at the press conference.

Filmfare recieved about 500 entries for the awards while 55 of them have got nominated.

'Pagalavan' to roll out in two months

We had already updated you regarding Vijay agreeing to director's Seeman's 'Pagalavan.' The script of this film has been ready since two years but did not take off for various reasons. But all that is history now. Vijay will start working for 'Pagalavan' after he wraps up 'Nanban' and 'Velayudham.'

With many government organizations getting privatized, if this trend continues the nation will have to dance to the tunes of the rich and the affluent. This being the backdrop Vijay will appear in this film as a bold and outgoing youngster who will be seen fighting for his rights as well as that of his peers.

The director of the film is positive that this film will be a milestone in Vijay's career. Seeman is working on certain aspects of the film to suit Vijay.

This film has two heroines. The director is busy finalizing the heroines. Since no names have been finalized yet it leaves us wondering if it will be a known face acting opposite Vijay or whether a debutante will find herself acting opposite Vijay. We will let you know soon as to who will share screen space opposite 'Ilaya Thalapathi.'

The director also recently revealed that 'Pagalavan' will start rolling in a couple of months!

Deepika, original choice for 'Rana'?

Right from the time a script is picked upon for Rajini, everything at the pre-production, production, post-production and probably even ages after his movie is out, everything that happens surrounding him is nothing but news.

Now the latest we hear is that, Bollywood damsel Deepika Padukone was not the initial choice for the film by the team. The first choice for the film was Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg' girl Sonakshi Sinha, who will now be introduced to Tamil cinema through 'Viswaroopam' where she will be cast opposite Kamal Haasan, the other pillar of Kollywood.

An amusing piece of information, isn't it?

It is said that, KS Ravikumar strongly believed that Sonakshi would be perfect for the role, but then Superstar had something else to say.

Rajinikanth, who has been a good friend of Sonakshi's father, Shatrughan Sinha right from their 'Asli Nakli' days in 1986, didn't feel it was right to share on-screen romance with Shatrughan's daughter.

Deepika Padukone was approached after this and she was only more than happy to don the role of 'Rana's lady love.

KV Anand goes to Tollywood

KV Anand’s 'Ko' is a landmark venture for not just Jeeva, raising him to a star status, but also for filmmaker KV Anand. Junior NTR who has achieved a godly status for his dance among fans, was all praise for KV's latest venture 'Ko.'

Not just that, Junior NTR requested KV Anand to do a Telugu film with the actor to which KV agreed immediately and narrated a script then and there. Junior NTR who fell in love with the script agreed to do the film.

The duo will be coming up with a Telugu movie after KV finishes up with 'Maatraan.'

'Rangam' draws splendid collections

Rangam , directed by Tamil director K V Anand, received positive reviews but it took time to pick up the collections. As the film's hero Jiva was relatively new to Telugu audiences, the film was a slow starter at Box-office. But good reviews and word-of-mouth helped the film and is now running to packed houses in many areas especially in Hyderabad.

In its 5th week, the movie is running in more than 10 theaters in the twin cities. Happy with the film's result, Mega SuperGood movies is soon planning a mega success event in Hyderabad that would be attended by all the cast and crew.

Karthika to Bollywood

Even before her first Malayalam film is out to theatres, Karthika, the daughter of senior actor Radha, is all set to debut into Bollywood. Karthika, as per the latest reports, is being considered to play the heroine to Akshay Kumar in the remake of Tamil hit 'Ko'.She will be doing the same role in the remake that she had done in her debut hit in Tamil opposite Jeeva. Apart from this film, she is yet to land in Mollywood with 'Makaramanju', which will get to theatres in a couple of weeks.

Karthika' debuted into filmdom with a movie in Telugu titled 'Josh' with Nagchaithanya. The tall actress has also appeared in the Telugu version of 'Ko' which was titled as 'Rangam'.
