“I’m not doing Vaanam” says Sneha Ullal
Seems like Vaanam, the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster film Vedam, is in some trouble with its casting yet again. Sneha Ullal, who was to return to Tamil after her 2008 bilingual film Nenu Meeku Thelusa/Ennai Theriyuma, was announced to be a part of the remake which was also, her first straight Tamil film. But now the actress has confirmed rumours from her twitter account that she is not doing the film anymore. The rumours were circulating since the 2nd poster of Vaanam was publicised with neither had her photo nor her name.
She says “[I’m] clarifying [that] I'm not doing VANAM coz when they asked dates me was real sick and was not allowed to shoot last 6 months.” Given that there was various kafuffle surrounding the film right from whether Anushka would reprise her role from the original, Jagan being dropped from the film after a few scenes, all of which were reshot with Santhanam, to the recent injury sustained by Simbhu on set, it would not be surprising if Vaanam’s release date is postponed, which is currently scheduled for February 3rd. However, producer Ganesh of VTV Productions has not made any official statements.
Incidentally Sneha was the first one booked for Vaanam after Simbhu and was to play the role originally done by Deeksha Seth.
