Chiru announces Cherry's engagement date

Megastar Chiranjeevi sprouted a surprise by announcing the engagement date of his son Ram Charan on Twitter. The date is final: September 2. (The date also happens to be the birthday of Cherry's uncle, Pawan Kalyan).

The suspense over the date was finally over when Chiranjeevi, a Congress politician, became active on the micro-blogging site just to make the announcement. It is not known whether the family will invite the media or will keep it a private affair.

As is well-known, Cherry's soulmate, Upasana Kamineni, is a Hyderabadi who helms a health magazine. Ever since the news of their engagement was broken by a news channel last Saturday, Upasana's picture has been splashed across newspapers, tv and Internet.

Chiru's 150th film shelved

Megastar Chiranjeevi who acted in 149 films so far was to do 150th film this year. Last year, Chiru's son Ramcharan Tej announced that Megastar will be acting in a film and that he would produce the movie for his dad. However, with the latest political developments in the state, looks like Chiru's 150th movie plans are shelved for now.

Sources from political circles confirm that Chiranjeevi will merge his party Prajarajyam in Congress this weekend.In return Congress party is likely to give Chiru a Union Cabinet minister post or make him the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and a few minister posts in the state cabinet for his MLAs.If that comes true, then Chiranjeevi will get busier in politics and he could be actively used against new challenges for Congress like Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.There are also rumours of mid-term polls to the state assembly this year.

Keeping all these points in view, observors point out that Chiru has now no plans to 'act' in a movie as there is lot on political front for him to be occupied.Earlier,Ramcharan Tej had approached several directors to take up his 150th film and V V Vinayak is believed to have agreed to take up the challenge.With Chiru becoming busy now, the movie plan is shelved for now.

Is Madhu’s ‘Adhinayakudu’ reserved for Chiru

Madhu of Leo Entertainments, who had produced super hit films like ‘Gajini’, ‘Tagore’ and ‘Stalin’ reportedly registered a title ‘Adhinayakudu’ in the Film Chamber recently.

It is learnt that Madhu had got the title registered keeping in view Chiranjeevi’s plans to return to the film industry to complete his 150th film.

Madhu, who has a close rapport with mega producer Allu Aravind and is preparing all the necessary groundwork for the forthcoming film of Chiranjeevi and the film is likely to roll in next year.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi, keeping aside his political career and his party Praja Rajyam for some time, left for the US. Though it was claimed to be a vacation trip, it is presumed that the Mega Star had left for the US for a make over with weight reduction process for a different and new look.

Of course, several gossips are making rounds that the film would be directed either by VV Vinayak or Murugadas or SS Rajamouli. One had to wait and watch as the Mega Star is yet to officially announce the director’s name.

IG Exclusive: Another Chiranjeevi’s Nephew Enters Cinema

Yet another nephew of Megastar Chiranjeevi will soon debut as a hero in Telugu cinema. Teja, son of Chiranjeevi’s sister will make his debut under the direction of super commercial director YVS Choudhary.

The new movie will be titled as ‘Rey’ and will be produced by YVS Choudhary’s banner ‘Bommarilu Vaari’. This will be the production number 5 of the banner with super hits like ‘Lahiri Lahiri Lo,’ ‘Seethayya’, ‘Devadas’, etc

The heroines of the movie will be Miss Earth 2006, Amrutha Patti and another beautiful model Shubra Ayyapa. Chakri will provide the music for this movie. The film’s unit will start shooting from October 1st.

The official announcement of Teja entering cinema will be made on Megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday August 22nd.
